Tasting notes
(35% each of garnacha and cabernet sauvignon and 10% each of carinena, syrah and merlot) Vivid ruby. Deep, smoky cherry and blueberry on the nose, with notes of black cardamom and gunpowder tea adding seriousness. Chewy in texture, with real punch to its dark fruit flavors. Becomes more floral with air, finishing with solid tannins and notes of candied rose and violet. If the Miserere deserves cellar time, this demands it.

The 2006 Clos de L’Obac is a blend of 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Garnacha, and the balance equal parts Syrah, Merlot, and Carinena aged for 14 months in new French oak. Exceptionally fragrant, it delivers a complex aromatic array of wood smoke, mineral, roasted herbs, incense and black cherry. Velvety-textured, layered, and ripe, it is well balanced and has 3-4 years of aging potential. Drink it from 2013 to 2026. Importer: Jorge Ordonez, Fine Estates From Spain, Dedham, MA; tel.
