Musty, sweet, salty, figs and prunes, but ultimately a bit brief and unengaging. (RH)

Much easier to figure out than the Last Straw is the medium amber-colored, rich, sweet non-vintage Pedro Ximenez. This dessert wine tastes like brown sugar/molasses syrup with notes of roasted hazel nuts, coffee, chocolate, and caramel. It should be enjoyed at the end of a meal over the next 3-4 years.
