Slightly closed and showing some maturity, the 2007 St Joseph Lieu Dit St Joseph Blanc offers impressive richness and depth in its orange blossom, caramelized citrus and honeysuckle aromatics. Medium-bodied, concentrated and with bright acidity, it’s an outstanding wine, but I’m left wondering if it was best drunk up before now, or if it needs another year or two of bottle age. Where it goes from here is anyone’s guess, but at this point I would lean towards giving bottles another year in the cellar, and if any oxidative notes start to appear, drink up.

(raised in all new oak) Light, bright gold. Suave lemon, orange and spicecake aromas are brightened by dusty minerals and citrus zest. Fat and creamy, with deep orchard and pit fruit flavors and a snap of tangy minerals adding energy. The oak is very nicely integrated, allowing the sweet fruit to stand out. Finishes with impressive lift, grip and spice.
