A reduced nose makes the sample hard to assess. Light, fine red fruit on the palate and with a nice silky finish.

The 2010 d’Angludet has a ripe and fleshier bouquet than the 2010 Ferrière with layers of sweet red cherries and crushed strawberry mixed with cedar and mint, almost Pauillac-like in style. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannins, fresh and lithe, the acidity well judged and almost gentle towards the graphite-tinged finish. Certainly this constitutes one of the more approachable Left Bank 2010s. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 10-Year On Bordeaux horizontal.

Deep garnet in color, the 2010 D'Angludet gives up scents of sweaty leather, baked plums and tapenade with underlying notions of cassis, wild sage and tar. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is a little rugged and rustic with a chewy texture and slightly drying finish.

Tasted blind. Deep garnet with brick rim. Mature aromas of undergrowth but also lots of sweet, mature black fruits, a bit meaty. Spicy dried fruits though not raisined. Leathery and developed on the palate but still offering pleasure in its spicy complexity. A wine to chew rather than sip. (JH)
