Score 89/100 · Drink 1993-2008, Robert Parker, Apr 1993

The 1989 Barbaresco-Santo Stefano is clearly the best example of this wine made by the Castello di Neive since 1982. The big, leathery, meaty, herb and tobacco-scented bouquet is followed by a rich, concentrated, medium to full-bodied wine. It has already shed some of its tannin, and can be drunk now or over the next 12-15 years. Importer: William Grant and Son, New York, NY.
