Score 93/100 · Drink 2013-2021, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, Feb 2013

Blended of Shiraz 96% and Cabernet Sauvignon 4%, the 2009 Heysen Shiraz has a deep purple-black color and alluring notes of blackberry and black plum preserves over a subtle undercurrent of fruit cake, Indian spices, sandalwood and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is quite taut with a firm backbone of grainy tannins and crisp acidity, finishing with layers of spice, berry preserves and savory hints. Drink it now to 2021+.
