Score 87/100 · Drink 1992-2005, Robert Parker, Jan 1990
This Premier Cru vineyard is a real insiders' wine, not only here but from other producers as well. The vineyard has a beautiful exposure and often approaches Grand Cru quality. The Cazetiers is tannic and savage, yet deep and rich; it will take more time to reach maturity. I would estimate it peaking between 1992-2005. Vallet thinks his 1985s are the best wines made by the firm since the 1949s. In general, I found the 1985s to be richly colored, very structured wines with the best of them quite special.
