Score 87/100 · Drink 2005-2012, Daniel Thomases, Wine Advocate, Apr 2004
The 2001 Le Volte, Sangiovese and Bordeaux varieties, the house’s volume wine with three hundred thousand bottles, is a dark ruby/garnet with a nose of plums, leather, and fresh meat, a forceful and vigorous palate, and a slight roughness of tannins on the close which will require some bottle time. Drink: 2005-2012. Importer: Robert Mondavi Imports, Napa, CA; tel. 800-228-1395
