Complex aromas of lemon, hazelnut, hay, minerals and nutty oak. Suave on entry, then penetrating in the middle, with a ripe lemon flavor. Densely packed, round and full but with the verve of the vintage. Finishes with excellent, slow-mounting length. Javillier says this is still affected by the bottling but I find it intense and harmonious.

Cask Sample Very exciting. Tense and lively. Lemons. Limes. More fruity (as opposed to mineral) than most. Chewy, too. Needs time. (JR)

Reticent, reduced nose hints at lees and stone. Fat, sweet, round and full, with enough acidity to give shape to its silky texture. The flavors here seem a bit less primary than those of the Clous, but at the same time this chewy, fat wine is in a rather reductive stage. Best today on the long, fresh back end.
