Score 89/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Jul 2004

Rich aromas of pineapple, honey, butterscotch and game; more exotic than the 2002 example. Sweet, concentrated and truffley, if not yet particularly complex. Finishes with a pineapple flavor and very good length. Aged in French oak.

Strange fat lollipop/sherbet aromas. Definitely a bit of substance and exuberance – much more interesting palate than the four above. Good acidity. (JR)

This may be the finest Chardonnay I have tasted from Pierro. It boasts stunning aromatics of white peaches, orange rind, and subtle French oak. Rich and medium to full-bodied, with crisp acidity as well as laser-like clarity, this is a full, intense yet remarkably stylish and harmonious Chardonnay to drink over the next 2-3 years.
