Tasting notes
Harvest date 15 Sep-1 Oct; yield 70 hl/ha; vineyard area 54.05 ha Bright, dark crimson. Very rich and flattering on the nose (that chaptalisation trick again?). Lively and complete. There is quite a bit of acidity but with food this could be a great vintage to drink now. Dusty tannins on the finish – but a light charge of them. (JR)

This excellent effort displays a dark ruby color as well as sweet, jammy fruit, moderate elegance, copious cassis flavors, and a medium-bodied, soft, low acid finish. It is one of the few Sociando-Mallets with flavor and concentration that can actually be drunk young. Anticipated maturity: now-2010.
