Score 91/100 · David Schildknecht, Wine Advocate, Jun 2007

A 2005 Savigny-les-Beaunes Les Peuillets offers a site-typical smoky, floral, meaty, strawberry nose, then comes onto the palate silken, incipiently creamy in texture and infectiously juicy and satisfying in its ripeness and freshness. Deep clay in this site promotes water retention, which would seem to explain the abundance of primary juiciness and the downright dynamic personality in a drought vintage. This wine, like the Hauts Jarrons that follows, is from vines owned by Potel. Importer: Frederick Wildman & Sons, New York, NY; tel. (212) 355-0700.
