A pretty, seductive style of wine, the medium-bodied, dark plum/ruby-tinged 2008 exhibits generous quantities of black cherries, tobacco leaf, licorice and earth as well as loads of spice, an endearing, lush texture and rich fruit. Enjoy it now and over the next 10-15 years.
Not much on the nose at the moment, just a touch of vanilla and spice. Dark fruit and quite minerally on the palate. Fresh and finishes dry. An attractive lightness of touch in a firm but supple frame. Seems a little closed down for now. (JH)
Very dark crimson. Muted, dense nose. Fresh, leafy, scented. Polished but without a real core of fruit and, oddly, I wouldn't mind just a little more acidity to liven up the palate. Drying finish. (JR)
About the producer
This estate is one of Bordeaux’s oldest, with vines planted here since at least the 13th century. Over three generations, the Perrin family has completely renovated the estate and raised quality here significantly.
