Strongly Sauvignon on the nose, even slightly feline. Bright fruited but not that complex. I can't imagine its improving alas. (JR)

A very strong effort for the vintage, this dark ruby/purple-hued 2007 reveals notes of sandalwood, spice box, black currants, sweet cherries, and truffles. Spicy, round, and generous with a nicely layered mouthfeel, velvety tannins, and a surprisingly long, authoritative finish, it will provide plenty of pleasure over the next 10-12 years.
Closed but somehow promising on the nose – hints of fine dark fruit. Savoury, fresh and quite elegant. Fine, dry tannins. (JH)
Red-ruby. Perfumed aromas of black raspberry, flowers, licorice and minerals; this reminded me of Burgundy. Juicy and fruit-driven, with an edge of acidity framing the raspberry and spicy flavors. Fresh and firm wine with modest flesh and decent length.
About the producer
This estate is one of Bordeaux’s oldest, with vines planted here since at least the 13th century. Over three generations, the Perrin family has completely renovated the estate and raised quality here significantly.
