Score 87-88/100 · Drink 2003-2013, Robert Parker, Apr 2003

The 2001 may be as good as the 2000, largely because of the increased viticultural and winemaking efforts going on in this backwater appellation, which is becoming a top source for high quality, reasonably priced Bordeaux. Dense, medium to full-bodied, with a deep ruby/purple color and plenty of sweetness, it should drink well for up to a decade.

Mid-crimson. Medicinal nose that is sweetly aromatic. Chewy, full and dense. Dry finish and a bit dead on the palate. (JR)
