Score 94/100 · Drink 2035-2070, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Aug 2019

The 1999 Eitelsbacher Karthäuserhofberg Riesling Beerenauslese #38 displays a bright, white citrus color. The nose is beautifully clear, fresh and even coolish yet concentrated and spicy on the nose—a picture-book BA from the Ruwer and specifically the Karthäuserhofberg! The palate is sweet, highly elegant and perfectly balanced, with great intensity, sweet and lush texture and filigreed structure. This has great finesse and elegance and certainly a great future ahead. This BA was bottled with 7.4% alcohol and nearly 154 grams of residual sugar. Tasted in June 2019.
