Ruby-red. Superripe aromas of black raspberry, blackberry and pepper. Sweet, suave, fine-grained and generous, with good life in the mouth. Cool mineral and licorice notes, along with suggestions of stony soil. A wine of noteworthy finesse for all its density. Finishes with noble, suave tannins.

Light nose. Not quite the depth of the Nuits St-Georges Clos des Argillières, but more race and nerve. Slightly drying finish. Sturdy. Okay, but not inspirational. (JR)
