Score 87/100 · Drink 2004-2010, Pierre Rovani, Jun 2003

The laser-like 2001 Chassagne-Montrachet Caillerets will particularly appeal to those readers who shy away from sensual, hedonistic wines. It offers loads of juicy lemons, minerals, and chalk flavors in a light to medium-bodied, focused format. Its personality is long, not clipped, and it reveals good depth of fruit. It may well improve with a year or two of cellaring. Drink it between 2004 and 2010. Importer: Diageo Chateau and Estate Wines Company, New York, NY; tel; (212) 572-7725

Subtly smoky aromas of white flowers, brioche, fresh herbs and wet stone. Rich and dense, with lovely clarity of flavor and excellent stuffing. Classy Caillerets, with convincing fruit and very good length.
