The 2008 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Caillerets 1er Cru has a lovely mature nose with dried honey, mint and fennel. It is well defined and quite generous (despite the bottle coming up directly from the cellar.) The palate is well balanced with a honeyed texture, almost Germanic in style, hints of praline and walnut, very harmonious with impressive depth on the finish. This 2008 is in a very good place at the moment.
