Score 93/100 · Drink 1994-2014, Robert Parker, Oct 1994

Tasted 3 Times With Consistent Notes The 1948 offers up a powerful, roasted, rich bouquet of tobacco, ripe curranty fruit, and smoky chestnuts. It reveals no amber or brown, concentrated, highly extracted fruit, full body, and plenty of alcohol and tannin in the finish. The wine is clearly at its plateau of maturity and shows no signs of losing its fruit. It should last for another 10-20 years.
