From Tony Balu, the regisseur of Clos Fourtet, this is a tiny garagiste property producing approximately 300 cases of glorious St.-Emilion. Made from a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, with Stephane Derenoncourt consulting, it exhibits a dense ruby/purple color, a big, sweet nose of creme de cassis, white chocolate, charcoal, roasted herbs, and smoked meats, and a dense, opulent, fleshy style with wonderful fruit purity as well as length. This hedonistic yet structured 2006 should evolve easily for 15 or more years.
