Score 91/100 · Drink 2023-2025, Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate, Dec 2023

The 1979 La Tour Carnet is surprisingly showing for a wine of this age despite an underripe bouquet. Evoking aromas of leather, dark berries, leaves, green pepper and licorice, it’s medium-bodied, lean and taut with a sweet mid-palate and a long, delicate finish. Its elegance is commendable even at 44 years old.
