Unusual nose of coffee bean and leafy dark fruit. Lightweight, juicy and herbaceous on the palate. Light tannins too, in harmony. (JH)

Blackish crimson. Nose needs considerable encouragement. Quite firm and fresh – without the sweetness that characterises so many 2012 Médocs. Therefore a rather welcome change. But it's a little stringy on the end. (JR)
About the producer

Desmirail
Purchased by Lucien Lurton in 1980, Ch. Desmirail has been managed by his son Denis Lurton since 1992. Gradually they have worked to restore the property, with a new winery and more precision in the vineyards.
