This is not a complex wine but it offers a wonderful fruit profile of blackberries, plums and red Chinese dates. The flavours are soft, rounded and balanced by firm but tamed tannins. Very easy to enjoy with moderate length. Jeannie Cho Lee MW asianpalate.com
Elegant and expressive Margaux fruit, almost understated, but has ripeness and finesse, very attractive medium term. Drink 2015-25. (16.5 points). Steven Spurrier, decanter.com
A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, raised in 40% new oak, the Desmirail has a slightly herbaceous nose but nothing to get worried about as there is some attractive earthy fruit to complement it. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chalky tannins, crisp blackberry, graphite and cedar, quite conservative and masculine towards the finish. Fine. Tasted April 2011.
