Score 92/100 · Drink 1992-1997, Robert Parker, Feb 1992

The Domaine L'Arlot is making superlative red and white wines. Their rare white Nuits St.-Georges is limited in availability as only 250 cases (from vines planted in 1950) are produced. The 1989 Clos L'Arlot is super-concentrated, with a big, smoky, earthy, buttery nose, rich, concentrated, glycerin-laden flavors, and a whoppingly long, intense finish. Interestingly, the manager of Domaine L'Arlot, Jean-Pierre Desment, brought several cases of this wine to the 1991 Oregon Pinot Noir Festival where it created a mini-riot when word got out about how spectacular it was. Drink it over the next 3-5 years. Various importers.
