Score 94/100 · Drink 2015-2033, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Apr 2015

Dark in color and deep in intensity, the 2007 Taurasi Naturalis Historia is only aged in barrique for a rich and more immediate style. This is a grand wine of tall ambitions with thick layers of spice, dark cherry, chocolate, red roses, prune, rum cake and blackberry that peel back in seamless fashion. The wine returns to honey, sweet spice, chestnut and candied fruit. Although Aglianico is known for its bold tannins, they have been tamed here by aging and oak. It shows firm lines with a silky feel that gives the wine an extra sense of elegance. Fruit is sourced from the Mirabella vineyard that was planted in 1972.

Very dark, blackish ruby. Dusty earthy sweet nose fruit. Intense and ripe. Elegant palate weight and perfect balancing acidity framing the fruit. (WS)
