Umami, quite four-square and squat, solid rather than soaring. Not my favourite of this lot. A bit like brown miso. Peppercorns. Beetroot. Stolid, ungainly finish compared with the others from this decade. (TC)

51% Cabernet Sauvignon. Very dark crimson. Pale rim. Rich and yeast-extract nose. Thick and dense but a bit brutal. Heavy. (JR)
(a 51/49 blend): Saturated ruby. Cherry-cola, blackberry, vanilla and pungent spices on the nose, with a floral overtone building with air. Smooth, expansive dark berry preserve and cherry-cola flavors are brightened by tangy acidity and show impressive depth. Turns sweeter on the finish, with the cherry and vanilla notes lingering.
