An elegant, lighter-styled St.-Emilion, this medium-bodied 2006 reveals soft tannin, some herbaceousness as well as pretty cherry and raspberry fruit intertwined with loamy soil undertones. It should be drunk over the next 8-12 years.

Slightly pale. Round fruity nose but a bit stringy and lean on the palate. Pretty chewy and sinewy. Definitely an athlete… Lively finish. (JR)

Score 87-89/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2007

(from a 2.2-hectare vineyard located between Belair and Magdelaine, according to consulting winemaker Hubert de Bouard; roughly an 80/20 blend of merlot and cabernet franc) Ruby-red. Highly minerally aromas of blackberry, flowers and spices; almost pinot-like. Suave, juicy and on the dry side, with modest flesh but lovely purity and perfume to its dark berry flavors. Not a particularly sweet style, but subtle and firm on the back, with enticing lingering perfume.
