Score 95/100 · Drink 2014-2025, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Apr 2012

The 2009 Teixar is pure Garnacha Peluda from 70-year-old vines that are aged in a combination of first, second and third year French oak for 14 months. It has a complex bouquet of beautifully defined red currant, wild strawberry, heather and lavender that blossom from the glass. The oak is very subtle, remaining quietly in the background. The palate is medium-bodied, with supple tannins, great harmony and focus. Dark brambly red fruits, cranberry, minerals and a touch of white pepper all vie for attention but are supremely well-defined, while the pixilated finish has firm grip and a sense of symmetry. It has great persistency in the mouth – utterly delicious and extremely complex. Drink 2014-2025. Importer: Ole Imports, NY; Tel. (914) 576-6120
