Score 89/100 · Drink 2003-2010, Robert Parker, Dec 2003

The 2001 Pinot Noir Thieriot Vineyard exhibits sweet currant and cherry fruit along with loamy soil notes intermixed with hints of pepper and earth. A muscular, spicy, rich offering, with more sweetness than the 2002 as well as moderately high tannin, it is a sexy, full-flavored Pinot to drink over the next 5-7 years. Tel. Good medium red. Subdued aromas of strawberry, loam and spice. Juicy, spicy and intensely flavored, with noteworthy definition and grip. Solidly structured and long, with a spicy whiplash of a finish.
