Score 92/100 · Drink 2013-2026, Jay S Miller, Wine Advocate, Jun 2009

The 2006 Collecion Privada was sourced from some of the estate's oldest Tempranillo vines. Malolactic fermentation was in barrel and the wine was aged for 18 months in new French and American oak. It gives up an alluring bouquet of pain grille, liquid mineral, lavender, incense, and blackberry. On the palate it is layered, medium to full-bodied, ripe, and complex. Give this lengthy effort 3-4 years of additional cellaring and drink it from 2013 to 2026. Importer: Jorge Ordonez, Fine Estates From Spain, Dedham, MA; tel. (781) 461-5767

Inky ruby color. Exotic bouquet of black and blue fruits, incense and licorice. Sappy and expansive, offering sweet boysenberry and blueberry flavors, velvety texture and very soft tannins. A spicy quality builds on the long, sweet finish, which strongly repeats the dark berry flavors. This is already flat-out delicious.
