Intense nose and a good price for the appellation. Juicy fruit but a little smudgy rather than the most precise. Tails off a bit on the finish. (JR)
Bright full red. Soil-inflected aromas and flavors of red cherry, raspberry, rose petal and minerals, complicated by spicy oak. Dense, silky and sweet; classy and delineated. Lovely balancing acidity extends the fruit on the long, ripely tannic finish. This wine represents a blend of fruit from three different suppliers.
Racy and a bit reduced. Not quite the breadth of the other wines but competent. Marked acidity, as you would expect. (JR)

Nicolas Potel is one of Burgundy’s most talented and connected winemakers. He created Maison Roche de Bellene, the négoce arm of Domaine de Bellene, in 2008, using his extensive network in the region to source top-quality fruit for an "haute couture" négociant operation.
