Tasting notes
Very broad and flattering and liqueur-like. Sweetness plus oak – not the most harmonious combo. Dry finsh. Not Nicolas Potel’s most glorious 2009 red... (JR)

Bright, dark red. Subdued but pure aromas of red berries, smoky minerals and sweet oak. Ripe, broad, supple and sweet, but without quite the precision of the Cazetiers. The sweet cherry flavor is joined by strong oaky torrefaction notes of espresso and chocolate. Finishes with substantial but ripe tannins.
About the producer

Nicolas Potel is one of Burgundy’s most talented and connected winemakers. He created Maison Roche de Bellene, the négoce arm of Domaine de Bellene, in 2008, using his extensive network in the region to source top-quality fruit for an "haute couture" négociant operation.
