Score 87-89/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2004
(a percentage of these vines were planted in 1993, but the rest are very old) Red fruits, licorice and flowers on the nose. Juicy, fruity and rather cool, conveying less fat than the village wine. Very much a wine from the Combe de Lavaux, a steep valley behind the village that is open to cooling breezes-and often bad weather-from the west.
