Score 90-92/100 · Drink 2002-2010, Pierre Rovani, Oct 1999

The ruby-colored 1997 Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux-St.-Jacques offers blackberry and blueberry scents. This feminine, elegant, broad, and harmonious wine reveals flavors reminiscent of wild strawberries, caramel, and cherries. Medium to full-bodied, well-balanced, structured, and satin-textured, it should be at its peak of maturity between 2002-2010. Importer: ???????????

Ruby-red. Superripe aromas of game and smoke. Boasts a sappy, liqueur-like sweetness in the mouth yet maintains its shape and delineation. Very classy, stylish Lavaux. Again, the tannins are lush and smooth.
