Made in an elegant style, this tasty Shiraz is smooth-textured, concentrated, and impeccably balanced. It will offer a drinking window from 2012 to 2025. The Colonial Estate is the Australian project of Englishman and Bordeaux chateau owner Jonathan Maltus. His first vintage in Australia was 2002. Inky purple. Deeply concentrated blueberry and boysenberry aromas brighten with air, taking a turn to red berries and candied cherry. A sexy oak spice element builds and carries onto the palate, adding sweetness to the raspberry and blueberry flavors. Seamless and very seductive, with impressive closing minerality and excellent persistence.
