Score 85-88/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2005

Good deep color. Ruby-red. Deep aromas of dark fruits, tar, chocolate and mint; verges on porty but avoids coming off as cooked. Fairly concentrated wine, with a cool, minty quality, a suggestion of licorice and an edge of acidity. Aromatic and bright, but shows a slight acid greenness on the end.
