Tasting notes
Score 89-91/100 · Drink 2014-2021, Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate, May 2011

The 2009 Nuits St. Georges Les Perrieres is an elegant, vibrant wine with expressive mineral notes that are woven throughout with an expressive core of fruit. This shows terrific energy and verve. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2021. Jean-Nicolas Meo began harvesting on September 12. He did 17-18 days of cuvaison and did one racking before the wines were prepared for bottling. I was not able to taste a handful of wines that were racked just before my visit, including the Cros Parantoux. Meo is among the growers who believe the 2009s will age well on their depth of fruit. Very ripe but subdued aromas of black cherry and licorice. Fatter and sweeter than the Argillats, with a distinctly creamy middle. Then shuts down dramatically on the back half, finishing more savory than sweet, with broad, dusty tannins.
