Tasting notes
The medium to dark ruby-colored 1999 Nuits-St.-Georges Les Perrieres has mouth-watering smoked bacon, juniper berry, and cherry aromas. Medium to full-bodied, lush, and fat, it is packed with satiny layers of cherries, bacon, minerals, and candied blackberries. It has outstanding focus, balance, and precision. This superb Nuits should be consumed between 2003 and 2012. Importer: Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, Berkeley, CA; tel. (510) 524-1524.

Saturated ruby-red. Blackberry, blueberry, brown spices and iron on the expressive nose. Fat and silky, with noteworthy volume. Plenty of wine here. Finishes with suave tannins and sweet oak notes. This should evolve relatively quickly.
Quite refined and almost edgy in its delivery with expressive aromas of lush pinot fruit and intense minerality (they don't call it Perrières for nothing). Despite the elegance, this is by no means light as there is solid intensity, structure and density of extract plus good length. A very fine Perrières. (First quarter, 2001). (AM)
