I was quite taken with the 1998 Fratta. It is a sensual, exotic wine laced with truffles, herbs, spices and leather, all of which come together in an intense, full-bodied style. The wine reveals tons of density and a long, resonating finish. In 1998 Fratta is 69% Cabernet Sauvignon and 31% Merlot.

This wine (69% Cabernet Sauvignon and 31% Merlot, aged in new French oak) has lots of structure, depth, and complexity. It is a dense ruby/purple-colored, with ripe berry fruit drenched in chocolate, toasty new oak, in addition to fine balance, density, and weight. It is capable of drinking well for 7-8 years.
