Tasting notes
The 2010 Pensées de Lafleur is just missing some complexity on the nose compared to its peers, but it seems to awaken in the glass revealing sous-bois , morels and tar-tinged black fruit that are well defined. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle grip, a fine bead of acidity, very well balanced with a deep and pixelated finish. Outstanding. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 10-Year On Bordeaux horizontal.

Deep garnet in color, the 2010 Pensées de Lafleur gives up notes of black olives, cedar chest and balsamic over a core of baked plums, blackberry pie and raisin cake. Medium to full-bodied, the mid-palate takes a slight dip while the finish is a little tart and chewy.
Tasted blind. Mid garnet. Refined aroma of sweet dried fruits and a touch of undergrowth. Perhaps a little bit herbaceous but in a good way. Fine boned, sweet fruited and fresh. Fully resolved and much more elegant than most 2010s on the right bank. (JH)
The 2010 Pensées de Lafleur, a blend of 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Franc, has a strict and linear bouquet that still feels very backward and yet well defined with tertiary black fruit, touches of cedar emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin, crisp acidity and a core of pure black fruit that delivers wonderful precision and persistence on the finish. Outstanding. Tasted at the Christies’ Lafleur masterclass in London.
