Score 92/100 · Drink 2005-2009, Robert Parker, Oct 2005
A blend of 70% Shiraz and 30% Grenache, the 2004 Brave Faces is a fruit-forward, exuberant offering that Michael Twelftree describes as “one of the whores in my line-up.” A luscious red revealing abundant amounts of cherries, raspberries, and currants intermixed with notions of licorice and spice, it is about as seductive as a Syrah/Grenache blend can be. Since only 20% new oak was used, the fruit is its dominant characteristic. Drink it over the next 3-4 years. This brilliant operation is a credit to the meticulous winemaking of Michael Twelftree and his staff! Importers: Vine Street Imports, Philadelphia, PA; tel.
