Tasting notes
(65% merlot, 27% cabernet sauvignon and 8% carinena) Deep ruby. Vibrant cherry and blackcurrant aromas are given depth by smoky herbs and tobacco. Nicely focused bitter cherry and licorice flavors are firmed by dusty tannins, with a subtle cracked pepper quality adding complexity. Gains richness on the finish, which features a lingering blackberry flavor.

The 2005 Geol is 65% Merlot, 27% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 8% Carinena aged for 10 months in French oak. Purple-colored, it has a Bordeaux-like perfume of spice box, vanilla, and smoky black currants. The wine is full-bodied with a solid core of spicy black fruits and firm structure but is slightly compact in the finish. Give it several years to round out and drink it through 2020.
