2002 Riesling Singerriedel Smaragd

Both the aromas and flavors here emphasize cooked, almost jammy apricot as opposed to the fresher fruit of the Hochrain. And where Hochrain was distinctive for its firmness, this seamless amalgamation of three pickings in Singerriedel is glossy, creamy and enveloping on the palate. Mineral and floral notes are quite delicately deployed in the long finishing cadence, consistent with a gentle, wafting personality. 2 stars.
