Score 90/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous
Deep ruby-red. Cassis, black cherry, violet and a whiff of gamey reduction on the nose. Penetrating, juicy and very intensely flavored; still a bit reduced but possesses compelling flesh and sweetness. Not quite as rich as this estate '99 Richebourg but more perfumed and expressive today. Finishes firmly tannic, sappy and long.
