Picked 27 September to 19 October. 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot. Deeper colour than the 2009. Still quite deep garnet. Whereas the 2009 is all fruit, the 2010 is all minerals and stoniness. Then it opened out to a fruitier nose. Quite rich and dense with massive fruit and tannins. Long and pretty dry on the end. But with so much fruit I am convinced it will outlast the tannins. Drier than the 2009 but very appealing. Long. Very very much more youthful than the 2009. (JR)

Savoury, inky nose. Round and easy. Quite powerful! Even if not top drawer. (JR)

Floral notes intermixed with black raspberry, blueberry, mulberry, some crushed rock and forest floor notes all make for a classic, full-bodied, surprisingly intense and rich wine that can be drunk now or cellared for another 10-15 years. A sensational wine from proprietors Jean Baptiste and Nathalie Cordonnier, this blend of equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon with a balance 6% Petit Verdot is another sleeper of the vintage and a major overachiever. A member of the Alliance des Cru Bourgeois du Medoc.

47% Merlot, 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot. Bright mid crimson. Savoury and dark-fruit aromas combined and a touch leafy, in a good way. Chewy but fine-grained tannins. Lovely balance of structure and just-ripe fruit. Delicious and persistent. (JH)
