Score 87/100 · Drink 1997-2005, Robert Parker, Jan 1998

Dark ruby/purple-colored with a smoky, sexy nose of black cherry fruit, licorice, vanillin, and spice, this medium-bodied, elegant yet flavorful, mouthfilling St.-Emilion possesses excellent depth and fine overall balance. The long finish exhibits some tannin, but overall this is an accessible, up-front claret to consume over the next 7-8 years. It is also a reasonably good value. Last tasted 11/97
