The 1988 Vosne-Romanee-Clos des Reas seems to be slightly lighter than the 1987, 1985, or 1983, but it is elegant, shows its telltale bouquet of oriental spices, black fruits, spicy oak, and plums, and is soft and smooth in the finish. I would drink it over the next 5-7 years.
