Score 90/100 · Drink 2001-2015, Robert Parker, Apr 2001

This is the finest La Tour-Figeac since the 1982. Dark ruby/purple-colored with a sensational bouquet of smoke-infused blackberries, jammy cherries, and coffee, this thick, unctuously-textured, rich, full-bodied, structured, moderately tannic wine is already gorgeous to drink. Anticipated maturity: now-2015. A sleeper of the vintage.
