Bright, full red. Liqueur-like raspberry syrup and mocha aromas lifted by stony minerality and peppermint. Lush and silky on entry, then more powerful in the middle, with a strong crushed stone element giving shape to the raspberry and mint flavors. Finishes strong and very long, with fine-grained tannins and noteworthy energy.
Meaty and rich – I found more griotte cherry flavour in the Charmes in fact! Firm and fine and concentrated. Quite ambitious and muscular. Still a little bit of oak. (JR)
About the producer

Nicolas Potel is one of Burgundy’s most talented and connected winemakers. He created Maison Roche de Bellene, the négoce arm of Domaine de Bellene, in 2008, using his extensive network in the region to source top-quality fruit for an "haute couture" négociant operation.
